The French Canadian Association (Le Cercle des Canadiens Français de Prince George) welcomes you to their website! While not all the information is available in English we would be pleased to assist you with any informaiton in regards to our programs and services.
HISTORY & SERVICES Le Cercle des Canadiens Français has been in existence since 1960 and was incorporated in 1979. The French Community Centre, acquired in 1987, is located near Fort George Park and includes a college with employment services.
The mandate is to unite French speaking individuals in order to promote the French language, culture and heritage. Another purpose is to also provide a visibility in the community, to counter assimilation, and to reach to the whole population in regards to various services in French.
According to the latest statistics known, there are about 4,000 French speaking citizens in Prince George and its region.
Approximately, three hundred members support this organization by donating time and money, by attending and participating during cultural events, and other programs such as the preschool and utilization of the resource centre.
PROGRAMS AND SERVICES OFFERED BY THE ASSOCIATION: - Preschool “Le Coin des Petits”, which includes One Francophone class, and Two Immersion classes.

- Adult French Classes: Fall session starts on September 14th for intermediates and September 16th for beginners and for the winter session intermediates start on January 11th and beginners on January 13th. They are held from 7pm to 9pm at 1752 Fir Street. The registration fee is 25$ non refundable plus the 12 week session for 120$.
- Resources Center: books, videos, and dvds for all ages, and public access to 4 computers
- Summer Camps: “Découvre Ton Monde – Discover your World” starts on 5th of July and ends on August 27th.
- Cultural Events: FrancoFun Winter Festival is on the first week of February and last one week.
Other activities include: Volunteer Appreciation in April; Talent Evening in May; St-John Baptiste Celebration in June of each year; Corn Roast is held in September. Christmas brunch is in December with a pot luck at Yalenka Hall and Christmas Mass (location to be announced). Please call us for more details. Most of the programs and services are family-oriented, and as such, very affordable. A newsletter is published three times a year. The members also received e-mail information on a regular basis. Most activities are publicly announced and the whole community and visitors are welcome to attend.
